What is mystery shopping?

Reality Check arranges for Mystery Shoppers to visit locations as regular customers. The location knows that mystery shops do occur, but do not know who the actual mystery shoppers are, or when the visit will occur. It is important for mystery shoppers to maintain their anonymity, and to appear as a regular customer. During their visit, shoppers follow predetermined scenarios and guidelines to evaluate employee actions from the customer's perspective. Immediately after their visit, shoppers complete an online report to explain their experience and answer questions concerning what occurred during their visit. The information from that survey is analyzed and provided to the client for training purposes. Shoppers are compensated a set fee for their time.

There is NO COST to register as a shopper. (You should never pay any fee to register with a valid mystery shopping company!)

Reality Check may have projects in your area throughout the year and welcomes new shoppers! Depending on your location, shopping assignments could range from grocery stores, restaurants, luxury stores, casinos, car washes, and many others. After you register, you can access our Job Board to see available shops in your area.

Duties and Compensation:

• Mystery shops may take approximately 45 min to 1hr to perform+ 30min of prep time, and 30 min of data entry time.

• Shoppers are considered Independent Contractors, and paid approximately $15- $35 per mystery shop, depending on the specific assignment.

• Shoppers must be 21 or over.

• Payment amounts are dependent on your location and specific assignment and may include a minimum purchase.

• Payments are made to shoppers after successful submission on a monthly basis.

• Compensation and requirements are stipulated up-front when applying for and accepting available assignments.

Shoppers are strictly prohibited to perform visits at:

• Any locations where close friends or relatives work.

• Any company that they currently or previously have worked.

• Any company where they work for a direct competitor.

• Any location where they are known by name by majority of employees.
